The major industry fight during the 2021 session was over AB 277 which, as introduced, would have required an insurer to pay the usual and customary charges for medical expenses and revise the provisions relating to the exchange of medical and insurance information between the claimant, the claimant’s attorney and the insurer which were amended in the 2019 session.  The industry provided significant data on the cost associated with the billed vs. paid language and working with the industry was able to get the language removed from the bill.
